We hike in Funäsfjällen, a mountain region in the county of Härjedalen in northern Sweden. This is a landscape shaped by ice, wind, and time. Wide, open moors give way to lush valleys thick with wildflowers. Some of Sweden’s highest peaks south of the Arctic Circle rise here, with views that stretch for miles. And weaving through it all are rushing waterfalls and ice-cold mountain streams.
This remote corner of Sweden is home to more reindeer than people – and few international visitors. No crowds, no noise, and no sense of hurry. It’s the kind of place that invites you to settle in, pay attention, and remember how good it feels to simply be outdoors.

This all-women’s hiking adventure will take us hut-to-hut through the Swedish highlands, all the way to Helags, Sweden’s highest peak south of the Arctic Circle and home to the country’s southernmost glacier.

If you love the outdoors but prefer to sleep in a cabin with modern amenities each night, this all-women’s adventure will let you experience some of the best day hikes in the Funäsfjällen mountain region.
